Hello all, I am excited to announce the availability of for iPhone and iPod Touch. I'm a grad student (history Phd) and have been looking for a good flash card app to help learn languages, but none really have fit the bill - they are either too complicated, do things I don't want them to do (and are too slow as a result), or can't handle the large number of vocab words that I want to learn.
I wrote my own! The two keys that I focused on were (1) the ability to import cards from Quizlet.com and FlashcardsExchange.com, and (2) the implementation of the awesome SuperMemo algorithm. FlashCards is not affiliated with SuperMemo in any way but i wanted to be able to use the 'spaced repetition' algorithm, which no app seems to implement-or if it tries to, it uses a pared-down algorithm which does not have the same advantages.
Anyway, you can check out the app at my website (including a video) and purchase it on the app store at. It goes for $2.99. Please feel free to ask any questions here or give feature suggestions. I am working on a new version with automatic backup (using drop box) and that should hopefully be available within a few weeks.
